“Decoding Racism,” will look at the systemic impact of implicit racial bias in areas such as policing, education, media, healthcare, and employment, and examine potential advocacy and policy solutions. The 75-minute livestreams will feature a short slide presentation on the topic followed by a roundtable discussion with a panel of experts.
The first episode of this monthly series, “Decoding Racism: Why Cops Kill Black People and What You Can Do About It,” airing on Tuesday, August 18th at 3pm ET looks at:
what implicit racial bias is and the brain science behind how it’s formed;
how implicit and explicit racial biases impact policing;
federal and local policy solutions for ending racial bias in policing; and
what you can do to address racial bias in your local police department.
